Q. My sewing machine is 1 month old and it was fiNE until I had to re-thread the lowere looper myself. I 've changed the thread several times and IT'S not dusty. Did you take out the plate and feed dogs and make sure there's not clumps of lint in there? I use one of those canned air things that people use to clean electronics. You'd be surprised what gets hung up inside those things. I hope this helps. Answered by no - Mon Feb 4 20:53:03 2008 How to raise bobbin thread through sewing machine? I have a Singer Merritt 4552? Q. I have threaded the needle and put the threaded bobbin in the bobbin case and hooked the thread, but i can't figure out how to pull the thread up . It tells me to just stick the needle through and it will pull the thread up but, the thread is just sitting there and I don't even see how it's even possible for it to come up. Please help! Asked by haydenmowry - Thu Dec 31 00:57:28 2009 - - 3 Answers - 0 Comments A. Just like this: Or the last part of this: -- start with "Thread the top of the machine". Two gotchas you need to know about: 1) you need to turn the handwheel in the direction that would cause the feed dogs to transport fabric under the presser foot away from you. Check the manual for which direction it is, or put a piece of paper under the presser foot, set up for a long stitch, and try it with an unthreaded machine. 2) Needles have a front side and a backside. If you put the needle in backwards, you'll usually get skipped stitches because the needle isn't picking up the bobbin thread. Check the manual to see if you've got the needle in right way around (or just try it the other way!) if you can't fetch up the bobbin thread in… [cont.] Answered by kay - Thu Dec 31 12:07:03 2009 What size thread should i use for making a necklace?
Q. Im making a necklace out of beads for my girlfriend, and ive never done it before. I have bought beads for the necklace, and the beads are all 4MM size. (Pretty small) And i am unsure what size thread to get for the cord. Also, if anyone knows a good place to get some, or a specific brand, that would be appreciated. Thank you! Asked by Captain Wheelchair - Fri Nov 6 20:54:50 2009 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments A. if you want to use thread, I would use something like C-Lon thread. They come in different thickness and lots of colors. It's a polyester thread that doesn't rot and doesn't rip. You will need a needle as this is flexible thread. A lot more popular are strings like tiger tail. They are several thin stainless steel wires twisted and then coated with clear nylon. They come in different thickness as well, for normal 4mm beads, a 0.48 mm will be fine. You cannot put a knot into this 'wire', you will need crimp beads. You will also need a crimping tool. You can find all this on ebay.com (search under 'tiger tail', crimps and crimping tool). If you don't want to get all that to just make one necklace, you might want to contact a jewelry artisan… [cont.] Answered by loves_jewels - Sat Nov 7 07:09:46 2009 From Yahoo Answer Search: "thread" |
